Travis Perkins - Service Overview

A major PLC, Travis Perkins is a leading company in the builders' merchant and home improvement markets and is one of the largest suppliers to the UK's building and construction industry with a national network of more than 1,700 sites across the UK.
Project Description:
ESP have been involved with Wickes since 1998. Since the acquisition of Wickes by Travis Perkins in 2005 ESP have continued to work with the Travis Perkins Group on a variety of schemes; the most recent of these including the following;
Woodbridge Road, Guildford
The project comprises the demolition of existing retail units and the redevelopment of the site. The work includes the construction of a new Travis Perkins trade unit; Benchmarx warehouse and showroom; City Plumbing Supplies; Toolstation together with a further trade unit as part of phase one of the development and a new Wickes Home Improvement Centre as part of phase two.
Woodrow Way, Gloucester
The project comprises the demolition of existing retail units and the redevelopment of the site incorporating the construction of a new Wickes Home Improvement Centre, together with a further three trade units.
Wickes, Broadstairs
The project comprises the sub-division of an existing Wickes Extra store to form a reduced size Wickes Home Improvement Centre and a further retail unit.
Further Works
We are also currently progressing with several other schemes with Travis Perkins Group that are anticipated for commencement on site within the next 12 months.
Duties include all aspects of project works from early consultation with Developers and Landlords for new sites, surveys / feasibility studies on existing sites plus full services and project monitoring. We were also responsible for writing the services specification for the generic store and have initiated significant improvements in services solutions for Wickes new build and refurbished stores resulting in major capital and revenue cost savings.
In addition, ESP have prepared generic thermal models for Wickes Home Improvement Centres and Travis Perkins trade units in order to determine compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations, assessment of renewable technologies and inclusion as applicable within the various schemes to satisfy local planning conditions, together with input to BREEAM in order to achieve very good to excellent rating.
Office Extension to Headquarters
This project comprised a new build 30,000 sq ft office with additional 4,000 sq ft data centre to facilitate the central business functions of the expanded Travis Perkins companies, including a three storey office block with Cat A and Cat B fit out along with a high resilience data centre including IT fit out.
