Project Description:
New Sainsbury's Local fit out within an eight storey, Grade II listed building. The project involved significant internal remodeling of a former bar and sensitive elevation treatment on a prominent corner site, in close proximity to Queens Street train station in the centre of Glasgow.
Due to the complication of the Grade II listing, Arc became involved in the project well ahead of the physical works commencing on site, to ensure the construction phase could proceed without delay.
Key Challenges:
- Dealing with issues, such as Change of Use, Historic Scotland and the Building Warrant;
- Structural constraints, due to the nature of the reinforced concrete building design
