Detailed liaision and planning was necessary between BAA and airlines, as the solution required a dividing screen within the existing pier and complex series of 'valving lobbies' to prevent cross mix of 'security cleared departing passengers' and 'non-security cleared arriving passengers', whilst still maintaining efficient operational use of airlines operating from the pier.
