MedicX Ltd - Healthcare Facilities
MedicX are a leading investor and developer who specialise in modern purpose built primary healthcare premises located throughout the UK. The completed properties are principally leased to GPs, Primary Care Trusts and Local Health Authorities.
We have been working with Medicx since September 2008. The projects range from new surgeries and pharmacies to oncology clinics. Additional minor works projects have also been delivered with values ranging upwards from £100k.
The oncology clinics include linac and radiotherapy suites and all the specialist construction methods which are associated with such facilities. These methods have included barium additives to the concrete walls, lead-lining and specialist tiling.
Associated development works have included construction of affordable housing, S38 / S106 / S111 / S278 works to achieve the wider project requirements. Project BREEAM ratings range from Very Good to Excellent.
We continually strive to add value for MedicX, examples of this include:
- Development of ISO approved processes to assist with MedicX ISO accreditations. Nationwide pre-qualification questionnaires for contractors to ensure a competent and competitive tender list is available to MedicX
- Development of scheme appraisal documents with multiple feasibility appraisals
- Locating sites and identifying investment opportunities
- Complete CDM review and implementation of new companywide processes
- Development of programme management tools to assist MedicX's central control of multiple projects.
We are currently working in the South of England and in Wales. Below is a summary of some current key projects:
Apsley, Hemel Hempstead
The construction of a surgery, pharmacy, retail and residential development with link road, highway works and external works.
Hounslow
Demolition of a multi-storey car park and remediation of severe ground conditions for the construction of a medical centre and pharmacy.
East Cowes, Isle of Wight
Part of the SEEDA East Cowes development for the construction of a PCT/GP medical centre and pharmacy.
All three projects have successfully tendered to within 4% of the cost plan.
Grangetown, Cardiff
Survey works complete, design development near completion.
Raynes Park
Construction of a multi-use 4 storey development with works currently on site to demolish 4 structures and processing multiple party wall awards.
