In addition to this we have also been awarded Framework Partner of the Quarter for recognition for the Central Library, Silwood Park Lodges and Wye College Relocation project.

In addition to our role on the framework agreement, we have also been invited to work on Imperial College's Framework Management Group to help develop best practice and continuous improvement throught the College's construction projects.

Recent projects include:

Dining Hall & Kitchen Refurbishment

Refurbishment of existing facilities to provide a new dining hall capable of being split and operated as three separate spaces. The Dining Hall also incorporates a live cook area.  All works took place in an occupied building and was phased to allow continued use of spaces.

Guy Scadding Building

The works comprise a complete strip out and refurbishment of the fourth floor offices, laboratories and plant infrastructure.  The scheme created a high quality research facility incorporating new open plan laboratory spaces and professors' offices.

Central to the project is the installation of a new centralised air handling system to the whole building.  These works were carried out in an existing building on a severely restricted site.  Decanting and temporary facilities were managed and provided to keep the facility fully functioning during the work.

Central Library Refurbishment

Appointed as Project Managers for the phased refurbishment on the Main Library which included the building of a new façade and unique glass service tower.

Phase 2 created an innovative layout to the ground floor facilities. The design team created a maze of new areas with the modern redesign of the wolfson study area and flexible space for groups and individuals in the 'mobile zone', including movable partitions to tailor the space to suit the students' needs. The library also plays host to a brand new café.

The team had to work around the Victorian foundations which lay below the surface of the original walkway where the structural support was due to go for the new build.

A significant amount of additional design work was involved in making the cooling systems as quiet as possible for the study environment which included air handling units in the basement and selective use of suspended ceilings.

William Penny Building

The works involved the strip out and refurbishment of computer teaching facility and complete refit of one floor.  The project includes a state of the art imaging studio and both cellular and open plan office space with a circular glazed meeting area.

The project also includes sun-pipe natural lighting tubes transferring natural daylight throughout the refurbished space. The remaining lighting system introduces flexible zoned lighting control compliment the sun-pipe installation.

Sherfield Infill

The work included the creation of new modern and flexible office accommodation, seminar rooms, staff facilities etc, maximizing the use of existing space on levels 3 and 4 of the Sherfield Building, South Kensington Campus.

The internal light wells on the floors were infilled to significantly increase the floor area with the remaining existing floor areas were refurbished to provide a new open plan office environment.

Student Union Refurbishment

This project was carried out in 3 phases to minimise disruption and to enable to Union to operate.

Due to the age of the building circa (1800's) the spaces felt dated and had suffered from not having been updated for some time. This refurbishment addressed the infrastructure, compliance with statutory regulation, upgrading of facilities and the concerns and desires of the Student body.

The first phase concentrated around making the building accessible to all and upgrading of the M&E infrastructure.  A new feature glass lift was installed and the existing service risers were adapted to accommodate servces. In later phases, new fire exits were also installed.

Phase 2 focused on the efficiency of the spaces. The building was reorganised and new facilities provided including installing a new mezzanine floor, new toilets and changing areas, new office and meeting accomodation and a new gymnasium.

Phase 3 completed the master plan and involved the  strip out and refurbishment of the student bar and nightclub. The new space has revitalised the Union building. Within the nightclub an existing column was removed to enable the stage to be relocated to maximise space. This required propping up the existing structure during the works.

At all times the buidling has remained operational, all occupied areas were decanted to allow the works to be completed.
