Project Description:
The work comprised the construction of an extension to the existing school science block to house a new sports hall and associated changing facilities of approximately 850m2.
Two houses adjacent to the site and owned by the school were retained and incorporated into the scheme as storage areas.
The building was of traditional construction with brickwork/blockwork, cavity/Kalwall wall construction and metal deck roofing.
The scheme was tendered on traditional Bills of Quantities.
The sports hall was opened by Dame Kelly Holmes in April 2009 and has been well received by the Governors and parents.
