Services: Cost Consultancy, CDM Co-ordination, Project Management

Green Frog Power builds and operates power stations in the United Kingdom. They supply standby power to the National Grid and develop gas-powered peaking stations. They also invest in and develop new green technologies.

Project Description:

Green Frog Power Ltd has been awarded a 15 year Short Term Operating Reserve (STOR) contract with National Grid and has identified a number of sites on which it will develop a series of fourteen 20MW power plants to fulfill the contract.  These are located in the North East, Yorkshire and South Wales and are seen technically as the simplest and most economic points to connect its power plants to the network.

Francis Graves was appointed early in the development process to advise on budget and costing; a procurement strategy and contractual arrangements; contractor and supplier selection; health and safety issues and to provide ongoing project management, cost consultancy and CDM co-ordination services in order to deliver each project.

Sustainability:

  • Each site has its own power generation system to support the country's National Grid.
  • All sites are on previously designated "Brown Field" sites unsuitable for any other construction works.

Form of Contract:

The projects will each be split into three main contracts:

  • Civils and building works Under the ICE Conditions of Contract.
  • Generators plant and equipment.
  • Grid connection works.
