Project Description:

The project involved the introduction of new formal and informal meeting facilities and breakout space to several floors within a head office building in Canary Wharf. The Scope of work briefly comprised the following:

  • Significant works to the server areas, including layout changes, seating areas and kitchen offers.
  • Reconfiguration of existing office space to accommodate new formal and informal meeting space.
  • Rebranding the space and providing feature directional and wayfinding graphics and signage packages.
  • The provision of new furniture, fixtures and fittings and AV equipment.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Services co-ordination.
  • Detailed acoustic studies and design proposals to ensure the performance of secure meeting rooms.

Key Challenges:

  • Liaison with business end users and housekeeping team to deliver the optimum combination / size of meeting room space.
  • Integration with the existing mechanical services optimising the use of AHU's with CO2 monitoring therefore negating the need for major works to base plant.
  • Working within business critical areas of an occupied building including trading floors working to a defined budget while offering a Client 'shopping list' of 'nice to have' inclusions and working them into the scheme at the appropriate time significant.
  • Audio visual alternatives investigated to include video conferencing, iWalls, interactive way-finding and presentation space.
  • Work to achieve very stringent acoustic performance ratings.
  • Achieving branding and look and feel decisions with a variety of stakeholders
