Decathlon UK Limited - Surrey Quays
Decathlon is a large international retailer of sporting equipment with in excess of 300 stores in 12 countries, with the head office being located in Lille, France. The United Kingdom head office is located in Surrey Quays.
Project Description:
The Surrey Quays site consists of two adjacent retail units separated by a landscaped pedestrian thoroughfare. The project involved the proposed refurbishment and remodeling of both stores to maximize the overall sales area and included options to rationalize back of house areas. Arc were also asked to investigate how the relationship between the two separate retail units could be improved for which conceptual visualizations of linking canopy structures and entrance / exit lobbies were produced.
Key Challenges:
- Any proposed alterations to the two retail units were to be undertaken with the minimum affect on retail operation. Therefore proposed works, including the new floor, were to be constructed in different stages.
